Describes and illustrates the mechanical exercising horse that Quellmaltz designed while the author lists the health benefits of horse riding in general and of his mechanical horse in particular, before going on to describe its installation and use. Horse riding was considered beneficial for patients suffering from giddiness and fainting, melancholy, scurvy, epilepsy, respiratory diseases, and rheumatism and was really suitable for the aged and women.
