The heavily pregnant Sigrid has lived most of her life in the shadow of her beautiful and charismatic but alcoholic mother. Her mother is now dead, and as Sigrid cleans out her apartment, she looks back on her childhood and youth, the disintegration of her family and her mother's downward slide.
