Megan leaves England in a clipper ship to meet her fiance, but the Pearl Pagoda, symbol of the beauty and mystery of ancient China, casts its spell over her and she encounters an inexplicable death and is suddenly imprisoned. Welsh orphan, Megan Jones, was betrothed to a Methodist missionary. She traveled alone to Macao aboard the Lotus Wind, captained by Robert Hawke. Captured by pirates, the wounded Robert and Megan become prisoners of Mr. Yao. This mysterious man's home was The Pink Pagoda. From there, Robert and Megan's lives will become further entwined. Their adventures had just begun.
