Book Description: The Wedding Guest, by Floyd Collins, is a chapbook selection of 14 poems filled with contemporary imagery of the everyday American South, the antique and hopeful moments that endure through death, struggles, and disappointments. The Wedding Guest was published in a limited edition of three hundred copies, fifty of which are signed and numbered by the poet. LIBRARY OF CONGRESS CARD NUMBER 87-90458 Publisher comments: All these poems, some in slightly different versions, were previously published in periodicals such as Chariton Review, Greenfield Review, Intro 16, Memphis State Review, Poetry Now, Porch, Racoon, and Southern Poetry Review. At the time, Floyd had about two dozen very good new poems that seemed to fall naturally into two themes. Of these, we selected fourteen that we very much admired and wanted to print together. I think this chapbook project inspired Floyd to some excellent re-writing, and it turned into an elegant little book. Each archival quality chapbook is hand sewn and includes an original etching by Daniel Humphrey as endpapers.
