Sam Hanley, marshal of Brodie Creek, has resigned to marry and become a rancher. However, trouble hits town when the Thad Cross gang - all killers - arrive. To avert disaster the townsfolk want Hanley back as marshal, but Hanley only becomes involved when the Cross gang raid the bank and kidnap his new wife, Ellie. To rescue Ellie he must follow Cross to Hangman's Perch, an impregnable outlaw roost. Everything seems stacked against him - can Hanley win through?
