Impoverished Lady Margery agrees reluctantly to spend Christmas at a house party hosted by her neighbor Lady Altham. She is incensed to find that one of the other guests is the handsome rake who accosted her in the inn while en route to her hostess. Lord Reckford on the other hand is intrigued with the beautiful young widow, and helps ease his way into her heart with the help of some kittens as well as some intrigue connected with Lady Altham’s sinister steward.
