Paperback book glued together on the spine The front cover has full page image of the "Astor Column Atop Coxcomb Hill." The word "Astoria" is in yellow ink, and "Telephone Directory" is in white ink. The other words are in dark maroon, because the sky around the Column is maroon in color. "Pacific Telephone, January 1957" is written at the bottom of the front cover in white ink. The name "Stine" is written in ink in the upper right corner. 1" from the bottom edge is a yellow ribbon with these words inside it: "See The Classified In This Directory; Its Yellow Pages Tell You Where To Find It." In the center of the yellow ribbon is an illustration of an open book that says "Yellow Pages" inside it. The back cover is also mostly maroon, with yellow and white accents. At the upper left corner is a mailing sticker with the name and address: "A.C. Fulton, 202 Spexarth Bldg., Astoria, Ore." There is a Postage Paid square in the top right corner. In the center of the back cover is a large white rectangle cut into four smaller rectangles. Each square has an illustration of family members on the phone: a woman in bed, a woman in the kitchen, a man and woman in a game room, and a woman sitting on a patio. These illustrations are maroon and yellow. There is a yellow ribbon 1" from the bottom edge that has these words inside: "See The Classified In This Directory; Its Yellow Pages Tell You Where To Buy It." There is an illustration of an open book in the center of the yellow ribbon that says: "Yellow Pages." A caption on the back cover above the illustrations says: "Take Life Easy; With An Extension Telephone In Every Room You Use A Lot. Choose from eight attractive colors. Extension phones are a real convenience...low in cost...less than a nickel a day. Call your telephone business office." On this telephone directory, the usual black silhouette of the evergreen tree is white with the words "Keep Oregon Green" inside it.
