This novel has been described as mythopoeic speculative fiction. That’s a hard description to pull off in contemporary literature but the author may have done it with language that flows back and forth between poetic philosophy and brooding mystery. Ask yourself what you would do if you were someone named Danny Blue healing from severe childhood traumas and had finally found somebody whose love could help get over them. But then that person is somehow removed from your life and you find yourself tangled up in a strange mystical musical battle between two legendary icons that you have admired for years. What would you do if all of a sudden you began to realize that you are something different from what you have always believed yourself to be and the death of the person you loved has somehow encouraged the formation of an off-the-chain death cult? [link text][1]The book is unusual for the way it mixes the themes of lyrics by two different musicians into a pretty scary plot. It’s also a different kind of paranormal love story that pulls you deeper and deeper inside the strange events. It takes a while before it becomes clear that the setting may or may not be on “this earth” but on a parallel one in a region similar to the southern U.S. [1]: http://www.zped-music-player.com/
