Bringing broadband home
Work detail
Until recently U.S. households had no choice in who provides them with access to cable TV services, data networks like on-line services and the Internet, and telephone service. In the past few years, however, cable operators and telcos have announced plans to get into each others' markets, while direct broadcast satellite firms have launched satellites that bypass terrestrial networks entirely to deliver cable networks. This report provides information about these delivery technologies and about how they compare to each other.
