Lennie the legend
Work detail
It is 1932 and nine-year-old Lennie Gwyther has a dream - to ride his pony, Ginger Mick, from his home in country Victoria all the way to Sydney for the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Join Lennie on his 1,000-kilometre adventure as he braves fire, floods and fog, camps alone in the bush, and faces a thief in the night. From swaggies to newspaper reporters, Lennie meets all sorts of people along the way - even the Prime Minister. Finally, the day of the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge arrives and Lennie and Ginger Mick take part in the spectacular celebrations. The crowds love Lennie and his pony - Lennie has become a legend.
