Rubberhead
Sex, Drugs, and Special FX
A chronicle of the life and career of Steve Johnson, a Hollywood special effects man whose lengthy list of credits include "An American Werewolf in London," "The Howling" franchise, "Ghostbusters," "Fright Night," "The Abyss," "Species," and numerous others. Johnson experienced soaring highs and searing lows in his career, which finally crashed in the 21st century as a result of advancements in CGI. He then found solace in writing, but when publishers demanded changes to his insanely overlong autobiography, Johnson went to Kickstarter and raised over $87,000 to get the books produced. Volume 1 was released in early 2017, with four additional volumes slated to follow. Issued in hardcover, paperback, ebook, as well an audiobook edition read by Johnson himself which deviates from the printed versions.
