Schizophrenia
Work detail
This book focuses on major current issues in the aetiology, pathogenesis and treatment of schizophrenia, and critically analyses the evidence supporting many of the conventional opinions about the disease. Chapters by leading basic science and clinical researchers address some of the more controversial issues in schizophrenia research, including the usefulness of early intervention in psychosis, the role of social environment in the disease, and the future of genetic research. Based on lectures presented as part of the first European Foundation for Psychiatry at The Maudsley (EFPM) meeting, this book will stimulate discussion and debate on novel views and will question the dogmas of existing practice.
