Stenting the Urinary System
Work detail
Brings together a multidisciplinary team, all of whom have made a considerable contribution to the development of urinary stents, and gives the practicing urologist a well-researched reference text on the implantation of urinary stents and the scientific basis behind each stent. Since the introduction of urinary stents in 1970, urological stents have gained rapid momentum in the armamentarium of urologists, interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons. The list of existing stents is increasingly taking the place of various open surgical procedures or are becoming adjuncts to new therapeutic regimes. Unlike other systems, the urinary system uses a variety of stents formed from many different materials, all of which are discussed here.
