Piero Bassetti is the president of Globus et Locus and is considered the conceptual father of Italicity, that transnational network which encompasses Italians, people from Canton Ticino in Switzerland, people of Italian extraction, Italian speakers and Italophiles. After the publication of Italici (Bordighera, 2008), a series of conversations between Bassetti and d'Aquino were published in America Oggi, the Italian newspaper of the US East Coast.
