Ingo Mittelstaedt
Work detail
Ingo Mittelstaedt (born in Berlin, 1978, lives in Berlin and Hamburg) creates staged photographs, which he partially combines with various objects into spatial installations and juxtaposes them with each other. In his picture arrangements he deals with various topics and picture materials, which can either originate from the museum context or depictions of everyday advertising brochures. Themes of showing, indicating, elevating and uncovering are always important for his choice of subjects. In so doing, Ingo Mittelstaedt explores in a humorous and enigmatic manner the possibilities and limits of the medium photography in his works. Mittelstaedt has already had numerous institutional exhibitions. In 2009/2010 he was awarded the 'gute aussichten - junge deutsche fotografie' prize; 2015 he received the New York-Scholarship from the Niedersächsische Sparkassenstiftung and the Land of Lower Saxony. Exhibition: Rudolf-Scharpf-Gallery, Ludwigshafen, Germany (28.04.-22.07.2018).
