Sammlung des Flüchtigen
Work detail
The term ephemeral sculptures refers to time-based works that are performed like a performance. As temporary appearances and in the use of variable materials such as sand, water or chocolate, these works evade their archiving, preservation or reproduction. The works of the sculptor Katrin Wegemann also break through the classical concept of sculpture of the closed object. Wegemann's work unfolds in a process-oriented and situational way, bringing the factor of time into static space. The exhibition space transforms into a stage on which the objects develop a life of their own.
