The tablets span the period from EDIIIa through the early Sargonic period, roughly 2600 to 2300 B.C.E. The archive of 180 texts from the reign of Meskigalla is the richest and most important corpus, with documents written over a very short period, between Sargon's war against Lugalzagesi and his subsequent campaigns against Mari, Ebla, and Yarmuti.
