'Track II Diplomacy and Jerusalem' originates from the work of the Jerusalem Old City Initiative, a major track two conflict resolution initiative aimed at helping to resolve the conflict over Jerusalem, arguably the key stumbling block to a lasting peace between Israel and its Arab neighbours. The first in a series of three books, 'Track II Diplomacy and Jerusalem' provides the first written account of this Initiative, with contributions from leading international specialists on Jerusalem, as well as leading academics and practitioners on security, governance, holy sites, archaeology, property and economic issues. The book includes comprehensive coverage of the longstanding conflict over control and governance of this holy city and how these issues might be solved. Previously unpublished studies give important insights into key aspects of the Old City and provide a context in which to understand how the Special Regime idea developed. Presenting the information in an accessible format, this book will be a valuable resource to advanced undergraduates and above, and also practitioners with an interest in Middle East politics, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the Middle East peace process.
