Left alone to reconcile the many confusions and absurdities which confront him daily, including an alcoholic mother and a workaholic dad, twelve-year-old Peter Phye finds a magical realm within the woodland surrounding his home, where he befriends Dillon Hopper, a magicada out of season. Among the many wishes a boy makes every day, Peter -- like Dillon -- wants most to find his way home. Peter and Dillon strike out on a mission for The Queen of the Night to find and recover these songs. Together, they cross The Sea of Queen Anne’s Lace, storm the gates of the Underworld and brave the Deepest Forest on their quest to set things right. There are villains and friends at every turn, human, animal, insect and supernatural.
