The Aufschwörungsbuch of the Hildesheim Cathedral chapter lists the families and coats of arms of all 211 Cathedral canons from the 1670s to 1810. The manuscript volume is now located in the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Library in Hannover. More than a "Who's Who" of the Catholic Church and nobility in the diocese of Hildesheim in northern Germany during the 18th Century, it allows insight through several generations into the structures of the church, society and politics of this time--Cf.
