Handwriting 3
Work detail
Handwriting 3 Student Worktext (2nd ed.) reinforces good handwriting habits and establishes with the student a consistent, legible writing style. Writing practices include copying poems, paragraphs, Bible verses, and writing personal compositions. -- Publisher. Handwriting for Christian Schools greatly simplifies the problems inherent in the transition from manuscript to cursive. During the first semester of second grade, students learn one additional stroke -- a cursive stroke -- which enables them to change most PreCursive letters learned in kindergarten and first grade to cursive letters. In the third grade, students review letters taught in the second grade. Students write with confidence because the foundation for cursive was laid in kindergarten and first grade. Thus laborious practice is replaced with meaningful writing activities that appeal to teachers and students. Activities reinforce concepts taught in Bible, spelling, Heritage Studies, science, and grammar. -- Letter to parents, page [103].
