The exhibition presents the state payment signs of Russia (coins and paper money) belonging to the period from the time of Peter I to 1917. The exposition includes all major types of Russian cents and rubles of that period (till 1915 when the last imperial rubles were released). All materials are be added with various painting, graphic and sculptural works which are related to the subject of exhibition (the portraits of the reformers of monetary system, images of banks, genre scenes, etc.) The exposition includes more than 170 coins, 50-80 paper payment signs, around 15 portraits and also different archival photos). Also the exhibition includes a multimedia program dedicated to the history of coinage in Russia.--From the Museum's website.
