Any Body's Song is a strong celebration of life. In it Langland ranges from the multiple landscapes of the Upper Midwest, where he grew up, to the broad cosmopolitan experiences of his life. His style is well suited to the bold simplicity of his subjects; he used the liveliness of colloquial speech along with the elegance and rhetoric of poetry in English.
