The environment has increasingly come to the forefront of public and political consciousness over the last twenty years. A particular concern has been the relationship between the regulation of energy production and environmental regulation. This topic is of direct concern to governments and industries, and touches many academic disciplines including law, economics, politics, management and policy studies. Accordingly this book represents viewpoints from some of those interests with contributions from academics, industrialists, and policy makers from Europe, North America and Japan. It highlights major current concerns and reflects the current state of debates. . This volume consists of edited papers given at an international workshop on 'Energy and Environment Regulation' held at Hertford College, Oxford, plus additional invited papers. The book explores four themes: Assessing Regulatory Impacts; Energy Pricing; Public Policy towards New Investment and Multi-Regulation. The book will bring current thinking on these themes to a wider audience.
