Paperback book glued together in the spine. The covers are mostly blue and white with colored photographs. There is some discoloration along the edges. On the front cover is a large blue-tinted photograph of the M.R. Chessman ferry boat. At the top of the page is the title, and at the bottom it says "Pacific Telephone." Near the center of the front cover is a white rectangle that says: "Use After - Not Before 11:00 P.M. Saturday, Sept. 7th; All Astoria telephone numbers are new. Be sure you dial the first two letters and the numeral of the prefix - then the other four figures ...destroy your old directory." There is some pencil writing on the front cover that has an address, some names, and some numbers. Also at the bottom of the front cover is an illustration of a small, open yellow book with the words: "Find it Fast in the Yellow Pages." On the back cover is a large blue-tinted photograph of a middle-age woman in the kitchen, talking on a bright yellow phone on the wall. The Postage Paid square is in the upper right corner. In the lower half of the back cover is a blue square that has white writing: "Telephones...for convenience...and in color, too; A yellow hang-up wall phone in your kitchen, a beige for the bedroom; There's a telephone and a color for any room you use a lot...; Call you Pacific Telephone Business Office." There is a hole punched in the top left corner. Size: 6" x 9"
