Between 1967-1975, the Aarauer studio community on Ziegelrain included the artists Heiner Kielholz, Max Matter, Markus Müller, Christian Rothacher, Hugo Sute who were closely associated with the artists Josef Herzog and Jakob Nielsen. By working together in the an old factory building they inspired each other's art and artistic development.
