In 1944, Asger Jorn painted together with i.a. artist colleagues Ejler Bille, Erik Thommesen, Henry Heerup, Else Alfelt, Carl-Henning Pedersen and Corneille a 75 meter long frieze in a small kindergarten on Østerbro in Copenhagen. The group later became known as the Cobra Group. A cultural treasure was created. The paintings are world art. Worn by the ravages of time and the daily life of the kindergarten, they have lived an anonymous life until now. But then Jorn's son, Troels Jorn, took the initiative to have the paintings restored, and in the spring of 2018, the children moved into the newly restored, sparkling living rooms. The book here tells the story of the Frisians' creation and puts them into a larger art and cultural historical context while the book describes the completely unique situation that the children in Hjortøgade play every day in the light of the play of colors from world art on the kindergarten walls. Richly illustrated with photographs by Roberto Fortuna.
