Les médias et l'Église
Work detail
*Les médias et l’Église* examines the relationship between the Catholic Church and modern mass communication, with particular attention to France and the religious context of the late twentieth century. Written from the perspectives of church leadership and journalism, the work considers how the Church interprets, uses, and is affected by news media and broadcasting. Its central concern is the tension between evangelization and information: how religious messages are communicated to the public while remaining accountable to journalistic standards and public scrutiny. The book also situates this discussion in the era of Pope John Paul II, when the Vatican and national churches were increasingly visible in public debate. Rather than treating media as merely external to religious life, it presents communication as a significant field in which the Church negotiates credibility and public presence.
