Reading 1 Service Word Cards
Work detail
Reading 1 Service Word Cards for the teacher enhance the practice of the irregular, frequently-used words that are incorporated in the stories. These word cards are referenced throughout the Reading 1 as well as the Phonics & English 1 programs. The irregular, frequently-used words on this service word list are introduced one by one in both First Grade Phonics and English and Reading 1. These words are best taught in context because a strong sentence provides both syntax and semantic cues for the reader. To make this teaching strategy convenient, each card in the set has a suggested context sentence on the back. A personalized sentence is an acceptable substitute. These words will require regular review and may be drilled as part of the strategy for practice. - Publisher.
