Philosophy is presented here as a search of truth, but a truth which by its very nature cannot be a human possession and therefore should not be treated as something one has. Rather, truth belongs to the realm of the existent. But what is the existent? Thus a certain restlessness permeates Marcel's search; the restlessness of the seeker who nostalgically longs for the peace and serenity offered by the security of a central anchorage.
