As part of the celebrations of the centenary of the birth of architect Enrique Seoane Ros, (b. Peru 1915-1980), the Universidad de Piura started its series Arquitecturas Peruanas with the publication of the monograph Edificio Diagonal. The modern building (1952-54) is one of the most important architectural designs of the 20th century and probably the most mature work of architect Seoane Ros. Completed in 1954, the project was awarded the Chavín prize that same year.
