The Road Taken
Work detail
The novel is about a stubborn and rebellious young man of 21 years who dreams of becoming a model. He is called Zen. He has been brought up in a hostel all his life and then, due to parental insistence, joins a coaching institute to prepare for CAT. There he comes across a very attractive teacher named Laisha. He takes a few decisions and sets out to act upon them ignoring every well wisher’s advice. Not even Laisha can dissuade him. Giving in to his demands, cautious and dutiful Laisha joins him, though secretly promising herself that he should be able to do well in life. Her marriage and the well-being of her children are risked in this way. Drawing examples from contemporary life, this book challenges many moral values. It leaves the heart to explain every choice and allows nothing beyond palpable reality to inhibit one’s action.
