The village of Plessis-Robinson knows the enthusiasm of the Parisians who, from 1848, come in droves to frequent the taverns and their huts perched in the branches of large chestnut trees. A few years later, the city welcomed many inhabitants living in a garden city with a colony of Russian artists. In the years 1950-1970, the city becomes denser then, from 1980, it begins a profound urban transformation which illustrates a new way of thinking about the city based on diversity and the creation of streets and squares in the European tradition. François Spoerry, founder of lake towns, including Port-Grimaud, and promoter of soft architecture, gives the spirit of this enterprise of urban reconquest unique in France. This book is part of the 'Grand Paris' collection dedicated to Art Nouveau and Art Deco in Paris and in the cities of the Paris region.
