An accident while vacationing in Spain leaves American Linda Monroe with no memory. However, as she gets to know Don Diego Halcon, the Spanish nobleman who caused her accident, it becomes clear that he dosen't beleive her condition is genuine. Recovering at Don Diego's estate, Linda would enjoy the Andalusian countryside and customs if it weren't for the antagonistic undercurrent she senses from her host. Why does he distrust women so intensely, no matter how innocent they may appear? And what is driving his sister, Dona Josefa, to plot Linda's removal from the estate? As weeks and months pass, Linda realizes she is also facing another danger: She is losing her heart to skeptical Don.
