Genesis
Work detail
This is the story of the Enoe family of boatbuilders in Windward, Carriacou who breathed life into a vessel made of wood. Armed with simple tools and traditional skills, they persevered through countless setbacks and a hurricane to design, build and launch a classic boat in modern times. - p. 12. In 2003 there had been no Carriacou sloops built in Windward for over a decade. In order to better understand the traditional building methods that had played such an important part in Carriacou's history, the author decided to embark upon a build project with master shipwright Alwyn Enoe and his sons. After a year and a half taking shape upon the beach at Windward, Genesis was launched and sailed to the Antiqua Classic Yacht Regatta. This is her story so far. - Jacket flap.
