I. Butovskii. Reproducing in color twenty-nine plates of Byzantine initials and marginal decorations and seventy-one plates of Russian miniatures from illuminated manuscripts of the tenth to the sixteenth centuries, the book offers a treasure of forms useful both for the study of medieval art and the history of design.
