Daily Health Concerns in a Bangladesh Village: Anthropological Explorations, is a collection of essays written by students of BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health in 2005, 2006 and 2007. These essays are the results of exploratory studies conducted in a village named Kakabo, about twenty-five kilometres from Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The students come from varied backgrounds and different countries in Asia, Africa, North and South America. The essays deal with diverse, obscure topics and unexplored areas in the field of rural public health in Bangladesh. This book includes chapters on oral health, personal hygiene, mental health, disability, elderly well being, sexual and reproductive health, traditional healers, local concepts of illness, occupational health, environment, smoking, and health information.
