The authors describe how Western Pennsylvania almost became a separate state called Westsylvania through a detail of the people involved in the movement, including a list of 1,991 names of various petitioners appearing in the American Continental Congressional Records. This history explains the Westward movement and how the pioneers came to a crossroads of differences, leading to the Westsylvania Proposal.
