Nuclear methods in mineralogy and geology
Work detail
The first part examines difficulties in praying and objections to prayer today. Then, in the second part, which forms the bulk of the book, there are discussions of the passages about prayer in the Synoptic Gospels and especially the Lord's Prayer; the writings of Paul; the Gospel of John and especially the Farewell Discourses; and the rest of the New Testament, with a focus on Acts, I Peter, James, Hebrews and Revelation. The last part then considers what answers the New Testament still offers for men and women today, in chapters on the difficulty of praying, human weaknesses and prayer, the idea of God and prayer, divine providence and prayer, the immutability of the divine plan and divine freedom, and prayer and the question of God's omnipotence. He ends the book with ten main principles which arise from his detailed New Testament study.
