El turno de los malos
Work detail
El turno de los malos juxtaposes two ambivalent realities: the adventures of a writer who leaves the bohemian literary milieu of the Zona Colonial in Santo Domingo in order to dedicate himself to writing novels; and the history of a criminal boss at the end of the 20th century. Quisqueya summers: experimento 65 tells the story of a young writer working on a novel about the Dominican Civil War in 1965, seeking to understand the recent past and to relate it to the values--or anti-values--of current society. Both novels were winners in the 2012 Funglode awards in the novel category: El turno de los malos took first place; Quisqueya summers, second.
