Herman can hardly believe his eyes when one morning he finds a huge, gray horse on his patio. The horse's name is Milkman, and his lips quiver as though he may start crying. As if that isn't unusual enough, it's even stranger that horses show up at all the other children's houses. Herman feels that this is no coincidence, and that the horses must be in danger.
