Brae Orrack, who claims to be a magic man, is in California for one reason: to find true love. He has been cursed by his evil cousin and must find a woman to love before the curse claims his life. To pay the bills, he accepts a job as a bodyguard for a hot-shot, young actor and soon finds himself immersed in the glamorous Hollywood world of the late 1920s.
