Time in Your Hands
Work detail
***Time in Your Hands*** by James Baldwin is the story of Billy and his sister, Beth (or Liz, as Billy liked to call her). The story is set just after the war when times were hard and money was thin on the ground. Despite this, Billy and his sister were happy with what they had. They made the most of their summer holiday freedom, as all children do, by playing with their best friends, Tommy and Vic. They were having the usual fun in their local park when a friendly neighbourhood dog escaped. They decided to take it back to its owner. This could have been one of the worst decisions they ever made. Will anything good ever happen again in the lives of Billy and Beth? Only time would tell.
