The 6th edition of the inernational semiar this year includes the participation of researchers from Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, Paraguay and Ecuador. Its objective was to deepen the discussions about the notion of permanence and presence, as well as the value attributed to historical monuments; to permanent public sculptures, projects and temporary artistic actions that are established in the current public sphere problematizing the relations between image and power constituted in the Latin American territory. The Grupo de Estudio sobre Arte Público en Latinoamérica, organized in 2008, brings together researchers dedicated to the study of artistic manifestations in the public sphere in Latin America. The GEAP-Latin America include the participation of Teresa Espantoso Rodríguez (Universidad de Buenos Aires), Marcela Drien (Universidad Adolfo Ibañez, Santiago, Chile), Gloria Cortés (Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Santiago, Chile), Carolina Vanegas Carrasco (Universidad Nacional de San Martín, Argentina), Dina Comisarenco, Karen Cordero, Marian de Abiega (Universidad Iberoamericana, México), William Paats (Universidad Nacional de Asunción), Elio Miguel Martuccelli Casanova (Universidad Ricardo Palma), Víctor Mejía Ticona (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú), José Luis Chacón (Universidad de Los Andes, Venezuela) and others.
