"Between 1913 and 1932, in Paris, a number of spectacular portfolios of decorative compositions were produced in the pochoir stencil technique, a method which, giving free rein to the coloring of individual prints by hand, attracted the most interesting artist-designers of the time. This book of 47 full color plates is a selection of 119 fine examples of pochoir design and illustrates the beauty and variety of the work achieved during this moment in graphic design. The artists represented in this collection include E. A. Seguy, Sonia Delaunay, Serge Gladky, V. Boberman, Jacques Camus, Georges Valmier, Georges Braque, A. Garcelon, E. Benedictus and Yvonne Bouchaud. The designs range from exotic florals and crystal arrays to improvised zigzags, still life abstracts and rigorously repeating Art Deco geometrics." --
