When two Australian nurses, Mae Winters and Sally Brandeis, crash-land after a mercy mission in the New Guinea jungle, they are the only survivors. As they wait for rescue, their would-be liberators are massacred by a Japanese patrol, leaving them in the hands of the modern Samurai, Lieutenant Oshima, and his sadistic Sergeant Nagato. So begins a long march to the Japanese encampment, and as pity for the two women vanquishes the code of blood, their captors are at deadly odds with each other in the torrid heat until they kill and are killed in a ghastly struggle...
