Shaken Days is a story about a large family that moves from the little town of San Leandro to Oakland in the spring of 1906. It focuses mostly on 11 year old Megan; the other children are 17 year old Ellen, 15 year old Neal, 10 year old Malcolm, and 2 year old Dirk. The San Francisco earthquake is a major event in this book. Shaken Days is a children's book, for ages 10 and up--8 if they are strong readers. This would be a wonderful book for children who are being home schooled.
