To recover, systematize and analyze these experiences and the new knowledge that arise from collective research and reflection, the CONACYT Thematic Network on Historic centers of Mexican citiesʺ was created in 2016, which promoted the publication of this book among its activities. It brings together a set of articles that analyze and document new models and processes of management, conservation and rehabilitation of the historic centers of various countries in Latin America and Spain, both in large cities -Barcelona, Valencia, Bogota, Lima, Mexico, as well as from medium or small cities -Merida (Yucatan); Silao (Guanajuato), Cuitzeo, Arequipa or Colonia Sacramento- which allow us to reflect on the importance of preserving its heritage , the economic and social welfare of the population and the enjoyment of those who visit it.
