This scholarly study examines the Ad usum Delphini collection, the major seventeenth-century publishing project created for the education of the French Dauphin. Focusing on the place of antiquity in the cultural world of the Grand Siècle, it considers how classical texts, Latin literature, and ideas about ancient civilization were selected, edited, and presented within a princely educational program. The work connects the history of education, court culture, and classical reception, showing how the study of antiquity served both intellectual formation and broader political-cultural aims in France under Louis XIV.
