Svindersvik in Nacka outside Stockholm is a well-preserved eighteenth-century site in the middle of the metropolis. The estate is neither a manor nor a palace, but one of Sweden's oldest summer residences. This book tells about the main building, the kitchen wing, the banquet pavilion, the garden and also about the many families and guests who have stayed here over the years. The fact that the estate was never transformed during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries makes it appear unique today.
